When I saw this cape I wanted to crochet it right away (whats new) . There is a cost of $6.00 for the pattern on Ravelry. The pattern has great pictures and uses the crocodile stitch. If you are like me Here is a link on Youtube on how to crochet this stitch.
I crocheted this in Red Heart Super Saver “Aran Fleck”. The pattern is pretty easy to follow and mine turned out exactly like the pattern. There are several changes I will make when I crochet my next one.
There is quite a gap in the front of the cape (as the picture shows). I will add to the base chain. I believe it would be in increments of 4. I will then have to refigure the decrease rows. I may also lengthen it. I am under 5′ and it is not very long. I will also add slits to put my arms through. The hood is quite deep so I will decrease the rows before the the crocodile stitch to 12 or 13.
The only thing that was not really explained is that the hood needs to be somewhat gathered before attaching it to the cape as the hood is quite a bit bigger then the neck line. This is not a big deal. I did pin it on with large quilt pins that I had before sewing.
I will also switch out the 3/4″ buttons for larger ones as the buttons I used tend to slip out of the holes.
This is a beautiful cape and worth the money for the pattern.
