One my favorite crochet sites right now is My Little City Girl. There are several free patterns and this scarf is one of them.
The pattern calls for Alicante yarn which is not a common yarn and I am not sure of the size. I used Bernat Softee Baby 100% acrylic and a size C crochet hook. Since this is a scarf the gauge really doesn’t matter. I am going to make this with a sport weight yarn and will use an E or F hook. What yarn you use depends on the look you want.
In the original pattern the scarf measures 40″ but I wanted a much long scarf so I chained an additional 100 chains. This made the finished scarf 72″ long. If you want to add additional chains to the base you need to add in increments of 4.
This scarf is rated as Easy and it just that “easy”. It can be worked up quickly and is one continuous pattern. You could crochet the base one color and the flowers another if you wanted. This pattern could also be done with thread weight yarn and added to pillow cases, towels, or clothing.
This scarf can be obtained by a donation on my facebook website. All donations are given directly to Voice of the Martyrs for the purchase of bibles.

That is beautiful!
Thanks, The woman from My Little City Girls has beautiful patterns.
